Folsomia candida (Willem, 1902)

A single female of this cosmopolitan species or species complex was collected 7 August 2011 in a bait trap within the presumed deep zone (refer to Howarth 1982), of CHILE, Rapa Nui, Maunga Hiva Hiva region, Cave Q15-076/ 0 78. This specimen possesses 10+10 dorsal manubrial setae, 16 ventral dental setae and 6 dorsal dental setae. These characters fit well within the limits of the taxon as defined by Potapov & Yan (2012).
